The Orchestra was founded in 1980 as an
adult evening class at West Herts College, Hemel Hempstead.

Now independent, it is run by its members.

Concerts are not performed and no auditions are required. Most members are grades 3 to 6; many have not taken exams.

It is informal and recreational, not too serious and fun. We welcome re-starters, beginners and those with little experience of playing in groups. The repertoire is broadly classical; we often surprise ourselves, and our conductor, with what we achieve.

We meet on Wednesday evenings from 8 to 9.30 p m at St John’s Church Hall, Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead.

You are welcome to come for a trial session with no obligation to pay or stay - but bring your own stand.
